I believe that Good Hope High School is a great school in terms of academic and athletic performance, but, through no fault of the school itself, the school system is severely underfunded. This is a relatively small school with large class sizes, but unfortunately has no room to expand. It is an old building that desperately needs updating in order to better serve the ever-growing number of students, however the lack of funding throughout the entire school system could ultimately prove to be a detriment to the students and teachers. This was a great school that I attended for a number of years and my only complaint would have to be that the facilities are not fully equipped to handle the number of students, which only increases year by year.

Overall, my experience at Good Hope High School was less than decent but it could have been worse. Neither I nor my peers have felt as if the school has prepared us for college courses. The coursework at Good Hope High School was roughly 50% busy work and 50% quizzes. The facilities were in decent condition and clean for the most part. A main concern of mine is that the teachers are unqualified. I know of several incidents where the student had to teach the teacher and did not learn any new material in their courses. There were never days where I felt unsafe, my freshmen year there was an incident where a student put an anonymous threat online and I felt secure that it would be handled properly, and it was. Socially, it was satisfactory for a high school setting but I must say that academically, Good Hope was very much lacking.
I like how family like each class of students that comes through are and how many opportunities for involvement there are for students. There are many clubs and sports for students to get involved in. Athletic programs are very good and getting better with all athletes participating in strength and conditioning classes. However, teachers and administration could be more supportive and available to students.
