Disappointing. Relies too much on the lottery system, so more often than not students who deserve to go don't get accepted.
At my middle school, it was definitely a new change in my life especially because I had the privilege to meet a lot of other new students. I loved how the school was big itself and you can tell that the teachers were very well chosen for the job. My principle was pretty great and was always involved. The security guard though seemed a bit rude to parents sometimes too, and I personally did not like that too much and neither did my parents. Besides that it was a fun experience and they focused a lot of cornell notes and that helps a lot in high school and no doubt it would do the same for college.
My favorite experiences would be in those provided my the Run Strong Foundation. I was the girl in the Math Club and then i was encouraged to join the track and field team. This experience is positively affecting my high school experience in Varsity Cross Country and Varsity Track and Field. If I could relive this experience i would join more clubs and interact more with students.
The teachers at Mendez teach very well. They know how to prepare students for High School. I am currently in high school and use all the short-cuts, techniques, and songs that I was taught. They push students to do well and encourage them to strive for excellence. I recommend the athletic programs and clubs, the teachers take their time to coach students and teach them how to balance school and outside activities. Overall, Mendez was a great school to be part of.
