If I had the chance to redo high school, I would attend Glenbrook North again. The opportunities at GBN are boundless, and the staff and faculty want to see every student succeed in their endeavors. I had the opportunity to get involved in academic clubs like Torch as well as serve on the Student Association Executive Board as Vice President. I am still connected with teachers though I am in college, and I still feel their support for me. Just yesterday, I ran into my freshman math teacher at a restaurant and felt so appreciated by the conversation we shared. In every department, there are countless teachers willing to listen to students' worries, fears, and passions. The staff here really shape the student body to be leaders in their organizations and community groups. I would not give up my experience at GBN for anything.
I believe my school was the best possible option for me. At Glenbrook North High School, students are offered many activities, a wonderful education, and opportunities that help them grow and discover themselves. I was able to continue my interest in musical theatre, choir, and piano while also exploring sports like track and cross country. I was able to participate in an honors program called Tri-M Music Honor Society while also being able to keep up with my grades. My teachers were extremely supportive of my extracurriculars while also challenging me to be the student that I wanted to be and getting the education I deserved.
I am incredibly lucky to attend Glenbrook North. Almost every teacher here is passionate, understanding, and incredibly qualified. As a student, you can follow your ambitions anywhere and Glenbrook North will have something to support them. It's a shame most people here take everything for granted.
