I transferred here from a private high school to be with my old middle school friends, while this was perhaps the greatest mistake of my life. I found that I wouldn’t have been prepared for college without it. I found the people judge mental and unforgiving as well as dull and uninspiring to the extreme. I wasn’t encouraged or welcomed in any capacity. I was lucky I made two friends in the one year I went here. Good luck!

The only thing I enjoyed about my time at Glenbard South was the friendships I made there, and that was pretty much the result of shared trauma. The administration did not handle conflict or mental health/reports of bullying or sexual violence well at all, the success of their disciplinary methods was mediocre at best, and the teachers were average across the board. That being said, I applaud GSHS for their club and community involvement opportunities, as well as their gselections of guidance counselors, who were dedicated to helping their students to the best of their ability.
I like Glenbard South a lot and I am glad I got to experience the opportunities I have experienced there. From being apart of the varsity volleyball team to being apart of the choir, their is something for each student to be apart of. Tons of clubs are offered and every student is able to attend freely. The teachers at Glenbard South know what they are teaching and they are trying their very best to make sure their students are ready for the SAT, ACT, AP test, and the future. The school spirit could improve but the main thing Glenbard South could improve on is finding healthier food choices for the students. Overall, Glenbard South was a great place for me to excel through my high school year.
