The employees at this school are well payed, teach well and enforce the rules. The music program is excellent, and the school has a wide variety of athletic programs from badminton to swimming, and usually continuously successful ones like volleyball, basketball, baseball. Academics are good, kids get iPads, and science labs and classrooms are state of the art or continuing to be renovated. I always joked about how the schools always under construction, and it’s great the district really uses its large amount of funds to make an awesome positive learning environment. The school is also pretty diverse, which you would not think for a Lombard school, but at East you can meet people from Lombard, Bloomingdale, Glendale Heights or even Addison. I truly love this school! Food kinda sucks although please fix it Glenbard!

My experience with Glenbard East is based on how I saw my daughter mature and change as a student. I have seen that this school brought up the best and the worst of her. For one part, she became stronger, independent, smarter… but on the other hand, she has bullied, bombarded with invitations to do drugs, and the opportunity to make bad friendships. However, she had strong role models (Hoot! Hoot! to the Spanish teachers!) And she was able to outsmart all the dark parts of a high school. Therefore, to summarize, this is a good school with great teachers, but I wish the administration would be more vigilant in what students do when no one is looking.
If you’ve attended Glenbard East high school, you’ll know that it’s a school full of opportunities. There’s a club for everyone, with any interests and there’s always something fun you can be involved in. The school also does a good job of letting you know that you’re a part of something bigger, and a part of a welcoming community to anyone of any background. Something that I enjoyed most while attending this school is how I made so many friends of so many different religions, ethnicities, races, etc. and got to learn so much from my peers. Here, I always felt welcome and loved. One thing I’d change for Glenbard East is nothing! If I had to choose something though, the school could be a little cleaner!
