GAMP is an amazing place to learn and grow as a student. It is a very small school with around 600 students for grades 5-12 but it can be a very strong community. The music program here is great with lots of opportunities to showcase all kinds of talent. The academics here are very good with lots of good teachers especially in the high school who are willing to work with you and be your biggest advocate. A downside I would consider is that there aren’t a wide array of AP classes to take. And the ones offered are very selective. But otherwise Academic are great. The building itself is amazing with half of it being somewhat newly renovated and the old building being pretty clean with air conditioning in every room. Overall, a great school!

My experience at Girard Academic Music Program has been pretty spectacular. If you are looking for one of the best music based, college preparatory high schools in Philadelphia, GAMP is the place for you. The music teachers here are all certified and extremely talented, as well as majority of the students. You will surely want to stick with your favorite music major. We have amazing middle school and high school orchestra, choirs, marching band, jazz band, concert band, and much more! We have many musical classes such as the aforementioned activities, music technology, theory, and piano, as well as amazing lesson teachers to help you improve with your instrument. Once you leave GAMP, you will always be a part of the family. We may be small, but we do have a big community.
This school is amazing! My son attended this prestigious school during High School. It is a very diverse group with friendly students, inspirational and of course highly educated teachers. I cannot say enough about Principal, Dr. Domb. She is always prepared to make time for the students and parents. My son was an aspiring singer and dancer, they took those skills and enhanced his abilities ten-fold. It is serious about its academic performance and you will work hard here. It is a safe environment, has small classes, perfect for individual attention, and in my opinion is one of the best schools in this city. I'm happy to say that my son Graduated from this High School on June 16th 2017. It accepts students from Grades 5 through 12.
