Gilbert Classical Academy High School Reviews
Rating 3.75 out of 5 166 reviews
As a former student from GCA, there were a lot of highs and lows through my full high school experience. The school is very rigorous academically compared to the other Gilbert Public schools which created a highly competitive student body; however, this resulted in a student body that was close, incredibly close. We all shared stressful moments together, making friends for life. There was a lot of pressure and stress in doing well. Personally, the worst experience I had was the stress and the lack of resources. Educators are not paid enough and it was very evident at our school. I had a lot of stress and depression for a variety of reasons and there wasn't a real support team to look out for the students. There was a time I was emotionally exhausted and stopped doing my assignments. Out of the 8 teachers I had, only 1 reached out to simply check up on me. Additionally, during my AP Biology class, we had at least 6 different teachers because no one was willing to stay.
Gilbert Classical Academy is an exceptional school. It is small, so everybody is comfortable and friends with everybody. It is difficult, challenging, and fast-paced which I enjoy. However, there is a lot of people who wouldn't make it here for that reason. There is a good balance of strict teachers and fun, laid-back teachers. I am genuinely happy here!
However, that is not to day that everything is perfect. I feel that with more funding, Gilbert Classical Academy could be the best school in Arizona. Right now, we lack the facilities necessary for certain sports as well as teachers for more interesting electives. Gilbert Classical Academy only offers arts like orchestra, art, and guitar as electives. I would like to anatomy & physiology, financial applications, and technology as electives. At the same time, that would require more students. Therefore, I understand wanting to maintain the small, intelligent, and dedicated community that we are.

I am a Junior at Gilbert Classical Academy, and I love the diversity and community at this school. The sports teams are really fun to play on, and are still quite competitive! The academics at this school are all around great, and the teachers work their hardest to teach their students the best they can.
