I love Germantown High School. The teachers really care about the students. I wish they would create a more fun environment where kids might enjoy going to school.
At germantown I feel I experienced a great high school career sadly cut short. I don’t feel like i reached my full potential there but it did help bring me out of my comfort zone
Germantown High School is a good school. My favorite thing about the school is how diverse it is. We have students from all over the world coming to the school. I love that Germantown is very committed to doing well as far as academics. They try to keep all test scores and attendance well at an all time high or satisfactory level. Germantown prepares you for college. The campus is set up like a mini college. Also they prepare you for what career you want to go into from Health science to criminal justice, to business and marketing.
It was a good school that offered multiple career-readiness classes geared for students that didn't plan on attending college/ higher education. There are over 40+ clubs with several organizations. There is definitely something on campus for everyone, and if not, they are extremely open to letting you start a new club. The teachers are friendly and are decent. My favorite thing about Germantown is diversity. I loved coming in contact with various people of cultures and religions.
My son has been at this school since his 10th grade year. He has been an honor student since that time. The communication has been optimal and he has some great role models who actually want to help him
They have been a pretty good school for the past 4 years. I feel that they did not prepare my daughter for applying for colleges and I feel that they need to work on starting in the 10th or 11th grade getting the kids ready for college that choose to attend.
Germantown was a good school. They know how to teach students, but they were so focused on dress code. Even showing your shoulders a little was considered dress code. Which made no sense. We couldn’t even wear leggings without covering up because we girls were a “distraction”.
I really like the school. It has an excellent honors and IB program great for kids who want to be challenged academically.
Germantown high school Is a very special school due to the culture and diversity within the facility, and it is truly the students that make it come to life. It is no perfect place by any means but is a place that tends to grow on you an the experiences are some that you will never forget in life.
In my opinion ever since I attended Germantown High School. I have see a tremendous growth in my grades.
Germantown High more diverse than other high schools in its area. They recently had their first black history program this year and there are plenty of school organizations and clubs that exemplify the diversity of the club. The school is also one of very few that have the International baccalaureate program. The Poplar Pike Playhouse productions and the footballs games are always fun and remind students of how they can all come together.
Germantown High School is a school based on fine arts. This school gives you so many opportunities to get involved and figure out which direction you want to go for the future.
I liked that Germantown was an outside campus because we weren't confined to one building all day. Overall Germantown High gave me a mediocre high school experience. I wish the students got rewarded more than they did. It wasn't any room to have the full high school experience because there were minimum activities planed for the senior class and to the lower grade levels.
Of course high school is what u make it, therefore, the experience for me was average. The teachers/classes aren’t difficult if you do your work. Traditions are big here. The school is like a mini college campus so you do have to walk up a bit of hills, deal with rain, etc. Also, as a student I was concerned about the safety of the school because it is so open and we did hear about things on campus but admin tries to make the situation not as big as it really is.
I like that they have good teachers that can teach well. The thing I don't like is that they do not let the children have dance and use the money from dances to pay for something good in there. I feel that if they put more of an effort to reward kids more than academics would be higher. It would also encourage more people to come to their school. They could also add more sports. It would definitely make others feel the need to put their children at germantown.
I love Germantown’s education, they have many programs to offer and had been referred as one of the best schools, most students come out with a good effect of high school, and it had a rich tradition of family.
I would like to see changes in the food area. I would understand if the administration wouldn't be quick to take the teachers' side if they heard the story of the teacher and the student.
