From German International School Boston

German International School Boston is a bilingual independent school serving students from age 3 to Grade 12. At GISB, children grow from curious explorers into independent learners. To us, that means teaching the skills and habits that confident, compassionate, creative global citizens will need. Our vibrant international community makes learning a cross-cultural adventure at every stage of a GISB education.

We are proud to be one of seven schools in the United States that meet the strict accreditation requirements of the German government, allowing us to award the Abitur. This prestigious honors-level diploma is recognized at European and American universities as an academic distinction.

Thank you for your interest in German International School Boston — we’re excited to show you what makes our approach to bilingual education unique! We look forward to getting to know you and your child and to helping you determine whether GISB is the right choice for your family.

German Intl. School Boston is one of the best experiences that happend to us as parents as well as to our kids. (one in lower, one in upper campus)
We are very satisified with the curriculum, the teachers, the offering from the school, the diversity, the way kids treat each other and as well how the parents are involved into the daily activities. This is simply impressive! We have had the chance to have our daughter for 3 years at GISB and our son for 2 years. We will definitely recommend this school to anyone in the Boston area who is interested in a bilingual school!

My kids have been attending the GISB for 4 1/2 years now. Our experience with the GISB is overall great, my kids love the school and we as a family are very happy to be part of this community.
Our son started here in 8th grade. He is autistic and has - from the beginning at the GISB on - been taken care of by a social pedagogue and a counsellor. Everybody in the school, starting from students and teachers and going on to the headmaster and not to forgot to mention the great staff people, have helped him adjust and perform well and get solutions for any kind of problems. Compared to another school abroad, where we have come from, the GISB is heaven for our son.
Our daughter, who started at GISB in 4th grade, experienced for the first time in her live cross grade teaching. She benefited a lot from it and has grown to a very responsible and caretaking teenager.
As mentioned yet at above - we are very happy at the GISB.
The German International School Boston is a bilingual private school in the heart of Boston. The school has a very strong and rigorous STEM focused curriculum and students take both the DIA (Deutsches Internationales Abitur) and the Massachusetts High School Diploma in 12th grade, giving them the option to study in the States or anywhere in Europe. The school feels more like a big family and the kids are kind and friendly and truly become “Weltbürger” through the international student body and their highly trained excellent teachers.
