I love this school and I had the best time of my life in it. Education is great, people are nice and staff is friendly and supportive (with the exception of a few teachers). Offers a variety of educational programs that suit your needs. I am a Senior here and this school is amazing! The teachers are very accepting and are also very easy to relate to! They are also very supporting! I am a Patriot and proud! Class of 2016! Go B16 or go home!A kind, caring, and mostly inclusive community that fosters a wonderful education including self and world awareness.

George Washington High School is an extremely diverse and welcoming school. Anyone able to attend GWHS will never not be satisfied with its dozens of clubs, sports, and other outside activities. Is GWHS a good school to attend? For one, yes, GWHS should be a first choice high school, no doubt, but, there a lot of problems. Fights, underpaid staff, old and somewhat no upkeep, but this should not take away from the morals and embrace of GWHS. GWHS also recently, for the 2018-2019 school year, underwent a strike with the DPS district in order to raise teacher pay, and the whole school, which included dozens of students, and all of the teachers, stood outside for hours protesting together in unison. In order to successfully change GWHS, enforce strictness and serious throughout to get a better result. Although GWHS does have its flaws, it always keeps crawling back to me as the fondest family I have ever had, and the fondest memories I will cherish forever.
George Washington High School has given me a rollercoaster of emotions, experiences, and lessons. George has had its rumors throughout the years but still has given me such great insight into what to expect in the real world and that the only way to succeed is to focus on yourself and not care what others opinions of you are. Our school is one off the most diverse schools in the Denver district, yet still has so much discrimination. Our school is one big teenage high school movie where there are cliques. If you aren't the right race, gender, preferred sexuality, or intelligence, you are turned away because you are perceived as different. As my 4th year is approaching, I hope this school year is much more accepting of others preferences and the year is the best one yet.
