George Washington High School in Charleston, West Virginia is one of the top high schools in the state. Academically it has some of the brightest minds that the state has to offer. The teachers do a good job in educating the students and making sure that they are learning what is needed. It has many clubs suited for all kinds of different students. The diversity at this school is also wonderful with many people from different cultures and backgrounds. This is even showcased in the school’s annual international day. Sports here is also good and teams are regularly are ranking among the top in the state. Despite all the wonderful things this school has to offer its facilities are subpar. The school is still very outdated and needs some major upgrades. In addition, the football field is also lacking behind some of the other bigger schools in the state.
I participated on the volleyball team. The coaches were excellent and the parent involvement was amazing. At GW, I was also graduated with a 3.5 GPA and feel I was very prepared for my college experience. Currently, attending the University of Charleston, I have maintained a 3.2 while participating in the work study program working in the Health Sciences division, and a member of the Student Activities Board. SAB has given me an opportunity to have a campus lifestyle while communiting.
