George Washington had a great education system. There was an ample amount of resources available to each student that help aid in the success of the students. There was also a sophisticated 'club' system where basically there were small bodies of people creating a communication network to help students with a variety of school issues such as school work, test anxiety, social issues, and even outside factors like abuse at home, poverty etc.

The teachers I had were nice and well versed in their subjects for the most part. The student body wasn't very diverse. Probably 80 percent of the students were Caucasian, so I did wish for more diversity, but generally, the student body was overall friendly and welcoming.

I would recommend this school to any kid who is looking for a warming community with a bevy of resources.

George Washington High School is one of the best high schools in West Virginia. The schools gives students many opportunities in social clubs, sports, and academics. There is an abundant amount of college and advance placement (ap) classes offered to students to prepare us for our future and college. These classes also allow students to be exposed to many different subjects and topics so they can find the topics that they are interested as a major or minor in school.
George Washington High School is a great high school in Charleston, WV. G- Dub is the nickname given to the school by the students years ago. GW is ranked as the the # 1 school aacademically in the state and it is evident by the number of students that go on to college., the number of honors graduates, AP and promise scholars. I knew from a young age that I wanted to attend George Washington High School because of their academic record. I wanted to be challenged and be prepared for college life. The fact that GW operates on a block schedule makes the school even more appealing. As a junior you have off campus privileges and that was what we all looked forward to as freshman. The teacher and administration are really dedicated to the students success also. Student life is awesome especially during football and basketball season when we come together as a student body.
