George Jenkins high school really prepares students for the real world and college. They have amazing and caring staff and the campus is very clean and nice. They really care about their students!
I like the school's environment. Everyone is friendly and kind. Overall, the school provided me with a great experience.
I liked how George Jenkins had very good diversity as well as strong support from the ESOL program towards the ESOL students. I would like the teachers to show they care more about the students, and counselors made more of an effort to counsel instead of judge.
This school is great in academics and amazing at preparing kids for college. Especially the veterinary science academy and the agriculture department helping students develop responsibilities with many animals. And the teachers and administration are always on tract to helping the students get ready for college.
Overall, George W. Jenkins Senior High School is a very good school, it offers many programs and has excellent teachers.
I loved the campus and the layout of the school. The teachers that I ever interacted with were very helpful. I also loved the friendships and sports. A change that should be made is better lunch food.
I love the teachers and environment the school provides. There are so many vast opportunities exhibited at GJHS. They could improve on the food and administration. The facilities are nice and relatively well-kept.
I have had a very enlightening experience at GJHS. The teachers are very informative and friendly and the clubs are very inclusive. The administrators are very hard-working and kind to everyone. However, the school lacks diversity. Religiously, racily, and culturally, there is very multiplicity. In regards to lunch and our various sports teams, I must admit that they are rather subpar and lackluster. The schools safety precautions are also very average. We do have procedures for fire drills and tornado warnings, but are schools is very open.
Although I have been bullied some, both the staff and student body are wonderful and so very unique in their own ways! From being on top of all the students to the last student in a class, everyone shows their individuality and how much they love the programs they're involved in, etc. It's a wonderful place to be, really!
The amount of available academies at this school is a great opportunity for students to find their path. As for the atmosphere of the school it is welcoming, and has much to offer for all types of students.
Best school and enough to achieve as much as you want. Great school where i started my 10th grade and it was fabulous. My journey has been pretty good where all teachers are so welcoming for every student regardless of any bias.
George W. Jenkins Senior High School is a very good school, nevertheless, i would like them to serve better food at the cafeteria. Through, we have good Classes and teachers, we also have academies, you can leave the school a fully certified either in Vet, or Medical Sciences, Law Studies or Engineering.
I’ve had an amazing experience at this school! The teachers that I’ve had have been absolutely amazing! You can tell that they really love what they are doing. They are always there to help students every step of the way. There is also such a large variety of clubs and other organizations that everyone can find an activity to partake in. I’ve loved going to George Jenkins!
I travel an hour each way to attend this school. It offers many academies that others don't, for example the veterinarian academy that I am enrolled in. It has a barn on campus for hands on learning and working with the same instructors for this academy has made it easy for me to communicate with them. Overall it has been a great experience.
I had a wonderful experience at GJ, great kids and truly passionate teachers + faculty that really make the most of education.
I believe at George Jenkins they have an extensive variety of school clubs and sports that will appeal to everyone at the school. They make a special effort to include everyone in the student body with activities, spirit weeks, charities, etc. While those in Lakeland say that George Jenkins is a predominantly "rich, white people school," we have diversity and strive to have something for every culture and interest. The educators are treasures that have truly given me more than just an education, but a perspective on life and all of its different aspects. The faculty and administration communicate well with the students and handle rule enforcement effectively. As a junior, my past three years I have grown as a person and stronger as an independent individual who is ready for the future and college from George Jenkins.
There is something for everyone. I've never felt secluded or that I didn't fit in because of all the different students attending the school. All the teachers are fantastic and great at what they do. The staff is also fantastic, the guidance counselors and other admins are always there to help and the deans keep us safe. My school also held many fun events such as field day, prom, eagle fest, and grad bash.
