The school overall is good as far as the student body and learning environment! The students are unbelievably talented and the primes really help to mold them into amazing artists. Where it fall short is the excessive workload and less than supportive teachers who don’t understand that there’s only so much time in the day. Most nights I was up late doing homework and was sleep deprived during the school day. Some teachers understand how much work there is versus the amount of time we have, but many do not and will make you feel bad for prioritizing sleep over their class. I love a lot of things about the school, and there are teachers who have been absolutely amazing, but there’s still some serious conversations to be had about the workload and the extreme stress it puts on students. Until that conversation is had I’m not willing to rate it any higher.

No doubt the best high school in the area if you are interested in art, cooking, singing, acting, or in any way expressing yourself. The most welcoming, accepting, and tolerant school in Maryland. I love it here, and everyone else I talk to does as well! They also offer many college readiness and advanced academics programs. If you are more interested in athletics, this is not the school for you. It is also a beautiful school with a wonderful environment. Many students walk to the Five Guys next door after school! The "Carver Culture", as the students here call it, is completely different than any other school, and we take so much pride in that fact.
George Washington Carver is an amazing school! When I first walked in to try out for the acting prime, I was so nervous. Everyone was so welcoming that I totally forgot about my nerves. I performed and was selected to attend and jumped at the chance to be a part the Carver family. Carver is a top school for arts and technology and everyone that goes there has to try out so they want to be there. I met so many amazing teachers and students who became my friends/family. I am sad to leave when I graduate but I will always be forever grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow at Carver.
