My experience at George Ranch has dramatically improved as the years go. I hated it as a freshman and grew to love it as a senior. My first year was rough because of the peer pressure I had heard of caught up with me. I didn't know where I belonged and I strived to fit in anywhere I could, even if doing things I wasn't interested in. I had noticed that the next year, a lot of the people I hung out with started to drift away from me. They were spreading lies about me and rumors festered. I eliminated myself from that situation to focus on my education. My junior year was much better from start to beginning. I made new friends and built relationships I hope to have forever. My grades were doing okay and I was happy. Senior year is upon me and I was so excited but that excitement was unstable. I looked forward to my future at college but then dreaded leaving my friends and family. I was stressed about college applications worried about whether or not to I'd get in. But I got in!

Overall, George Ranch is a pretty good place to go to school. It ranks relatively high in academics- there's usually high STAAR, SAT, or other testing statistics regarding the school. The sports teams are competitive and frequently make playoffs or win district, and with that comes a pretty substantial amount of school pride. Arts and other school programs also seem to be successful in the school. George Ranch is so big that the environment of people doesn't matter because just about everyone can find a group of people they get along with. However, with so many students, not every teacher or staff member is as attentive or seems as willing to help as if the school was smaller. The caliber of advanced placement classes and dual credit is high, and if students seek help regarding their future, they'll likely find it. With the exception of a few teachers, most of my experiences were positive and helpful, especially with those teaching AP or other advanced level courses.
George Ranch has a very good academic program with teachers who are qualified but lack the musical programs. Not only do they have academic classes, George Ranch does offer AP and Dual classes. George Ranch has many clubs and if there is not one that does not fit your interests you are more than welcome to make your own club!
