The energy and the vibe of the school was really nice. The staff members and the principal are really funny and nice, also very understanding
My experience at George Bush High School has had its up and downs. I have met a lot of kids who are less fortunate than I am and are struggling with their lives. I like how at Bush, everybody is looking ahead towards the future and developing their goals in how they will go on with their careers. It's quite heartwarming to think that the students will actually take their work seriously and give themselves their best shot at their future. While the school may not have the best academics, the teachers and the administrators give it their all in order to make sure the students will have a successful career post high school. If there was something I would change, I would make prohibition of phones and other devices so that the kids will focus more on their schoolwork so academics won't be as big of an issue. If you live in the Fort Bend District, I would recommend going to Bush High School, and get an idea of what type of school it is, and how it could benefit your child.
At first I thought that I wouldn’t enjoy attending GBHS however over the years I’ve grown to love it. The school culture is great and we take pride in our fine arts accomplishments.
I enjoyed the arts program and the theatre program. However a lot of teachers at this school do not care about the students and think that students need to learn on their own instead of teaching. This school also does not have enough money or resources to properly support the kids, faculty, or get proper techers to fill the fields needed. I wanted to do engineering but due to lack of funds they were only able to get stand ins instead of proper techers. The few teachers that have been great to students and great teachers are Ms. Miller and Mrs. Geach. I hope they get more teachers like them or get better funding to make the teachers they have better.
The staff at Bush focuses most of their time on regulating fights between students. Most teachers are indifferent to their students but there are some teachers that truly make a difference in the students' lives here.
Being a student at George Bush High School is a one in a million experience. Our principal Felicia James breeds all students of GBHS with the FBISD standards of forward thinking and leadership along with her own standards for her Bush Broncos. Bronco pride is always present, and we are constantly told that to "Act like a Bronco and think like a boss".
George Bush High School was an amazing experience for me. The administrators are amazing at interacting with the students and answering all our needs. The counselors are very understanding, and all the extra school activities have been nothing but great.
Attending George Bush High School has been a very positive experience which has ended up teaching me a lot about each subject, college applications, and the world in general due to a supportive environment of students and staff.
I like the amount of diversity there is there, the teachers and the administration is very helpful. I really enjoy my classes and my art classes are the best with the best art teachers in the district.
George Bush High School is an ok school. Teacher-wise, most are nice. During freshman year, not many teachers would talk with me through problems much, in contrast during 3rd and 4th years, they helped me a whole lot more. The school overall has a hard time helping students. It wasn't until 12th grade when they really started urging me to do scholarships, and to think about college. The problem is that this should have been something they told me last year, so that I can be 100% ready now. Bush has the resources to help students, if, and only if they ask for them. Extracuricular activites are one of the higglights, there are many to choose from, and I recommend picking one up, if someone does go to this school. Hallways are fairly packed and a pain to go through, but you get used to it. Students at this school vary, some don't care about school, but for the most part, they all try. You're bound to make friends if you socialize. Overall it's average, it gets the job done.
I enjoyed all 4 years at this school. I would say the school sprint from students to parents and visits need a boost for the volleyball players.
The experience as a whole is just average at most. The teachers most of them don't care and will have favorites in class. I've been part of classes were kids don't do anything in class and somehow have a 100 for a grade. The administration is bad and lack control over the kids who roam the hallways in the school. The hall monitors are practically useless and the school environment in general is really bad. There is no school spirit whatsoever and if you aren't a senior in Bush, forget about it, they won't care about you whatsoever. Many of the good teachers have had to leave the school with how bad a lot of the things are. The only reason why I don't rate this school below average is because of the handful of good teachers I've had throughout my 4 years there. Besides that, I wouldn't recommend anyone coming to this school.
50% of the staff care, the others don't, the staff lack professionalism, often you get the notion many counselors & teachers are there for the paycheck
I only attended George Bush High School physically for only two years. Within these two years I've had a great experience; faculty and staff always made sure to have events for students to stay proactive. At time I did feel as if some teachers only came here to get paid rather than engage and really get to know their students.
George Brush high school , named after the famous president is an amazing school. Everyone including staff is well focused and open to exporting they’re mind!
There is always a good balance of learning and fun at Bush high. They also always keep students engaged in school with the different programs and activities there are to explore and enjoy.
George Bush high school to me brought about the greatest experience I've ever had to be honest one thing that stood out was the familiarity between the students and teachers it was a beautiful thing to see another thing that made the school so beautiful was the fact that there was no discrimination no racism it just felt like home to people of different races and something about that made me feel very comfortable as a black person. I recently graduated in 2021 and to be honest I've thought about what the school could change to make it better but I've never really found anything the school was perfect academically it was challenging the diversity was amazing there was enough college readiness the teachers were nice there was so much safety the club and activities were on point overall there wasn't anything
