MacArthur is a pretty great high school! There are a lot of events that unite the community, such as the annual Pink Out breast cancer fundraiser football game, Lax for Autism, and more. Autism Awareness month is a big deal in the school and for the community, and MacArthur is fantastic at highlighting the wonderful students in the special ed programs. The school itself has a lot of class options, including many AP classes, though it can be very difficult to fit what you want in your schedule. Safety-wise, it’s very secure and students feel safe! Overall, it’s a great school!

MacArthur has offered plenty opportunities for students to grow and develop their character. For example, MacArthur allows students to be apart of the 'Levittown Coalition for a better community', in order to get students perspectives on safety. Also every single one of my teachers is invested into not just our education, also our future. MacArthur has helped me thrive by allowing me to choose my schedule and was flexible in order for me to take all the AP courses I wanted to. MacArthur encourages all students to participate in Autism Awareness and be involved with our ABA students. One thing I would change about MacArthur is to add a community service project as a graduation requirement.
My overall experience at Gen. Douglas MacArthur High School was amazing. The school has a close community of classmates, teachers, parents and teammates. I have a strong collection of friends that I've formed over the years thanks to my school community. My school district participates in many fundraising events such as Autism Awareness, Breast Cancer Awareness, as well as helping families with children or family members who are battling illnesses. These events have brought together all of the students, families, and faculty members in our community to form a united front. Over the years, we have grown side-by-side through ups and downs.
The school has provided me with an education and the opportunity to participate in sports, teaching me life lessons, and building friendships.
The only change that I would want to see is that they continue to make improvements to the facilities inside and outside of the school.
