I do not like going to gehlen. There is little diversity in many aspects-from race to outward appearance, political opinions, interests, etc. The building is very small and seems cramped at times. They should make more of an effort in making all feel accepted- especially in a Catholic school. They do have good food and athletic programs, but to me are lacking in the arts.
Sometimes I find the way they showcase their students to be misleading. The students here do not seem to be any more "morally right" than any other schools. They are more religious, (obviously) but that definitely does not make them any less cruel or judging than anyone else. (This is from firsthand experience)
Take my review with a grain of salt, I have only been to Gehlen and have nothing else to compare it to. But compared to the accounts of people who go elsewhere, Gehlen definitely isn't all that. There are some wonderful teachers, staff, and students there. But from my experience, I do not think of it fondly

It was average. Most of the teachers are great people, but not great teachers. The classes are good and fun! Sports are always a blast and it’s a good atmosphere at the school. But it gives a decent education and even offers dual credit courses.
I joined Gehlen Catholic my freshmen year. What I love about this school is the family feel it has to it. At Gehlen, teachers really care about you and your well being. I've had teachers individually email me checking in to see if I am doing alright after they've noticed I've had a bad day. The teachers and staff all know me by name and have a special bond with their students that I've never seen before. We are a tight knit community that puts God first. At Gehlen, I have formed a new and personal relationship with God. I've been taught so much I hadn't known before about Jesus and meanings of his teachings here on earth. The religion teachers are focused and hard-working on strengthening our faith and for that I am extremely grateful.
I've been thinking for a while now about something I would want to see change in at Gehlen but I'm afraid I can't come up with anything. Gehlen is amazing and I wouldn't trade it for any other school.Gehlen is my family.
