Gateway Tech High School is a place of true equality. Every student works and excels at their rate. I used that agenda for my benefit. At tech, we have a choice of starting dual credit as early as our freshman year. Thus I was able to graduate a year and a half early with 27 college credits. The teachers are very understanding and give guidance whenever needed. On an instructional and social level, it's a very exceptional school. One change I would make would be the inside. As an online charter school sitting in that dark cold environment can be exhausting. If they were to repaint it, get some new chairs, and make it an overall more happy welcoming place. Gateway Tech is a no excuse school that is only 4 hours a day, with no homework, and offers dual credit. The only thing that can hold you back at tech is yourself. I would recommend Gateway Tech to a peer trying to get their diploma fast.

Gateway has had its ups and downs for sure, but this is expected of a new school. We are coming up on Gateway's 7th year anniversary, and I think we're doing pretty swell! We have gone from portables and eating lunch in batting cages, to beautiful facilities that are continuing to grow. Because of all the change, there really has been no consistency besides a few of the teachers who have been at the school since the beginning, if not very close to it. The staff who understand the principles that originally founded Gateway are gems. They do everything they can to make the students feel safe, and comfortable while going through the stress of being a teenager preparing for the stages of their lives. Gateway is home to so many great students and faculty, it has been an honor to go to a school like Gateway College Prep.
It is a good environment for people looking for a smaller school. Everyone at least sort of knows everyone. The teachers are great, especially in the math department. They care about the kids as if they were their one. However, it feels like there are different endgame goals in mind when you bring administration into the mix.

The teachers want to see the kids grow and be the best people they can be. They spend extra time to make sure no one gets left behind, and truly care about the kids. They want to have a lasting impact on the kids' lives and see them succeed in the future.

The administration seems to want to have the "best school". They want everyone to take the AP tests and get fours and fives. They require more "rigor" for every class, and it usually to amounts to requiring more homework for kids. They seem more interested in being better than other school than actually catering to the needs of different students. Students often feel like they aren't learning anymore, but have a lot less time on their hands. Many students, parents, and even some teacher have brought up complaints about the new administration, but it seems to go largely ignored.
