Gateway was a fairly diverse school with some teachers who genuinely cared about the students. Some of the staff cared and others seemed to just be there for the paycheck. If I could change one thing, it would be the overall school spirit. I would change the overall mood of the staff. Their attitudes can really change how students behave and feel. When a teacher shows a lack if caring, the student will do the same. It is the teachers job to get the students more involved. At Gateway, it felt like we all lacked that motivation. Also, I would make education similarly valued as with the sports. Sports were cared about much more than the education or other after school activities.

The school district had very good chances and opportunities for students who are interested in engineering, medical fields, EMT, and business. The school has different majors. There are variety of activities students do. I think many students at St. Louis city prefer this school.
Gateway is a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) school. They offer many programs that help with college readiness. It's one of the largest St. Louis Public Schools in St. Louis. It has unique features such as its own helicopter hanger, EMT services, and a great engineering department. It has a very diverse atmosphere. The academics are great and they really help us prepare for our future.
