My high school experience at the Gateway Charter High School has been one that I am 100% sure I won't forget. If I could do it all over again I wouldn't change a thing. Bullying is non-existent. New security systems have been put in which monitor every portion of the school, and safety precautionary measures have been increased throughout the past couple of years, not for any specific reason just to increase the level of safety and make the students feel more comfortable. Gateway Charter has really always been a positive experience. The teachers truly care about the students and get to know them in order to help them succeed. My teachers are always there when I need extra help and on more than one occasion have stayed after school help. The all inclusive sports programs encourage students to try something that they have not played before, no matter what age they are.

My experience with Gateway Charter has been smooth and very comfortable. Their teachers are willing to help their students any way they can and the community of students is always warm and welcoming. Attending this school is never intimidating and they provide college readiness opportunities with offers such as Cambridge classes. If I had to give one critique for improvement, I would suggest better communication of certain events or schedule occurances between students and staff.
It's not really the greatest school to go to if you want a real high school experience. You share a building with middle-schoolers, there's no program that would build up to something big or great for the future, there would be nothing new to learn since almost everything is repeated each year and there is no preparation when it comes to college or graduating. Everything is disorganized and there is no communication throughout the school. Even teachers would leave in the middle of the school year. I wish they could implement great characteristics that would make it an amazing school to attend.
