I love that all the teachers there are very understanding and supportive. They really believe in you. Personally, I would of liked to see more clubs, possibly sports related clubs. Maybe a volleyball or pickleball club. It’s a very accepting environment and you meet a lot of interesting people with all kinds different backstories. I loved this school!

Garza High School is a very comfortable environment where everyone is loved, supported and stabled throughout my high school year. From the cafeteria ladies all the way to the principle, you will feel welcomed and will be encouraged by other staff and students. The councilors are amazing at helping you with you grades, and college choices. They also had a college and career section where you can get help with finding the right college and getting help with financial aid assistant. I would highly recommend Garza High School to any student who is wanting to attend an alternative school. You are not rushed by staff to complete your work, its all self paste.
Garza is exactly what it needs to be. Self-paced and non-traditional. Staff is qualified, delightful, and work for you in line with your goals.

Students are people struggling with drugs, their mental health, are pregnant, parents, disabled, want to graduate early, bullied, or failed out of prev. school.

-ISS: group therapy, ind. counseling
-Tasty free lunch/breakfast
-Ag program: garden, chickens, cooking
-Adjustable coursework
-Occasionally distracting setting, but alternative spaces available
-Good places to hang out during lunch
-5 fights in the 11 years under current principal
-LGBT+ friendly and diverse
-Advisory with good lessons and student involvement
-Small classes
-Daycare on campus
-5-pd schedule mostly chosen by student: ex) some will take 1 class at a time 5 pds/day

You get what you put in. You'll be college ready if you need to be, advocate for yourself, and tell your teachers what you need. I feel really cared about here.
