They offer as much help as they can when it comes to taking college level courses and being prepared for things in college. There's a specific class when students learn early about what schools would be good options for them based on interests. There's teachings on things such as internships, financial aid, scholarships, and future career paths.

At Gary Comer College Prep I was being prepared for college. I liked that this school pays attention to preparing the students for going to college. The main structure of this school is to get all students into college. A change I would like to see is the school teaching about life. The school puts more effort into going into college and not into how to succeed in life or not make the wrong decisions, for an example, financial situations. The school is located in the south side of Chicago where it is a lot of violence. Although there is violence it isn't the biggest problem because students there still do well with there being violence. The bigger problem is there isn't a lot of resources there to better students ability to enhance their talents. The school is not that large, it is partnered with the youth center to have more space. Overall, the school should try to gain space to add more resources.
Since coming to GCMS, our scholar is blossoming academically. Her teachers have outlined a planned method of organizing subject matter that requires sustained focus and discipline. She is and we are happy with her renewed interest in all of her subjects. Thank you GCMS teachers and administrators.
