I recently transferred to Garnet Valley; however, I quickly adapted to the school with the help of the fantastic school staff and student body. I would recommend this school district to other students due to my wonderful experience there! If students and parents want to develop a unique and everlasting relationship with the culture of a school, definitely come study at Garnet. The usual experience of a high school is entirely different on the Valley's campus by being exciting and exquisite. Students will have a hard time encountering this environment elsewhere. Finally, I would recommend the school for the hardworking and solid values it taught me. If an individual wants to develop these values, look at the Garnet Valley School District because they will not regret it.
Overall, my time at Garnet Valley has been enjoyable. I have found teachers who support and encourage me to reach my highest potential, and have succeeded under their guidance. Specifically, my teacher Mrs. Griego, helped me to discover my passion for psychology. I have also found an amazing group of people I feel lucky to call my friends. There are some faults of course, as with any other school, however, it is clear that the administration is determined to help make the school a more enjoyable place, in any way they can. The administration really does make a great connection with the students, knowing mostly all of them by name, and going above and beyond to really get to know the student body. The counseling center, specifically Mr. Sallidino, our college counselor, is exceptional. He along with other teachers have done an amazing job preparing the students for life after high school, whether a student is looking to seek higher education, go to trade school, or enter the military.
What I liked about Garnet Valley was that there were always opportunities to participate in greater learning if you wanted. There was always support to achieve higher learning challenges, and there was a big emphasis on pushing yourself which I thought was helpful. The majority of the time, I also felt like we were all accepted and a part of the same community, but, one thing I would like to see change are the time people are outcast was certain groups at school. Though much has been done to include everyone and make everyone feel welcome at the school, I think more can be done to help parents and teachers accept this welcomeness as well.
