My experience at Garnet Valley High School has been one heck of a ride. In my opinion the students there are not the greatest and there are too many of them. Within the school district we have had multiple scares which did not make me want to go back to school. The food is extremely unhealthy and the bathrooms are not the cleanest. They put all their money towards things the school does not need, for example they completely redid the library and cafeteria. I am highly supportive of the music program which is failing in my school as well as many others. If anything my school could've at least put some money into getting new instruments, for marching band the front ensemble's instruments literally break while moving on and off the field and sometimes will collapse in class. Our band has shrunk by at least 35% since 2011. On the other hand my teachers have been excellent, they teach to the best of their ability and I have enjoyed almost every class I have had. Wish I can say more.
Review Garnet Valley High School
I have mostly loved the teachers I have come in contact with! They go out of their way to make sure their students are aware that they have time to help before school, during enhancement, or after school. A majority adequately control their classroom, but some can be pushovers depending on the students. I have made great relationships with a few teachers each year and I know I will remember them for the rest of my life. I am positive that they are more knowledgable and interested than most teachers in other districts.
Garnet Valley High School is a very accepting school. There is always a place for someone and every is welcome no matter who they are or where they come from, which is something that I really do like about Garnet Valley. Another thing about Garnet Valley that stands out is the athletic program that we have throughout our district. We really perform very well, and students work every day, off-season and in-season training and there are so many resources that are provided as well for student athletes. There are tutoring clubs as well available at our fingertips, we can simply sign up for tutoring when we need to. There are so many resources and opportunities at GVHS and I really do enjoy being a student here.
