One of my favorite things about Garland High School is that there is so much diversity, and this gives us students more insight to different cultures and backgrounds which is important to our society today. Another one of my favorite things about Garland High is the variety of different activities and programs you can do from academics to athletics and to clubs which makes for a well-rounded student body. Lastly, the International Baccalaureate program is one of the bigggest pluses our school offers, being apart of this prestigious program helps prepare students for college life which in my opinion is very beneficial. Garland High School has many things to offer which is why it provides great experiences to last not only through high school, but for the rest of your life.

I love the tradition that this school has and there are some teachers who are great. I've been taking mostly AP and honor classes in the 4 years I've attended. My friends who take IB claim it is mediocre but super competitive. Many clubs to join and extracurricular classes. I've been in one regular class and it was not the best learning experience. The new restrooms that were updated are nice, way overdue though. As of right now the Fine Arts building is still under-construction and I'm sure that it'll turn out okay by the looks of the restroom. There is a safety issue concerning the amount of doors all over the building, hopefully they do whatever they need to add security to the school. The food is absolutely disgusting! They don't even release the full nutrition labels that the FDA usually requires on your standard package of food, they only describe the possible allergens in the food and it's very hard to tell what exactly the food is made out of.
This is a place to be highly involved in organizations while also receiving education. There are so many organizations to join and be part of for anyone. They also offer IB, AP, and dual credit program which gives students a head start in higher education. However, I believe GHS can work better with offering students more scholarship opportunities especially those who have been highly involved on campus. I feel as if they only concentrate scholarships on students who received perfect SAT/ACT scores and those with 4.0 GPA. What about the other students. They need help as well. I believe everyone should have an equal opportunity to gain funding to higher education.
