The teachers at Garden School truly care about the students - as both learners and individuals. Instructors frequently go above and beyond their duties in the classroom, serving as coaches for school teams, mentors for students interested in learning more, and by volunteering to help students with class events and fundraisers. I've never felt scared to approach an instructor for help, and I felt like I truly learned when I was a student at Garden because my teachers taught me about subjects, as opposed to teaching me how to take a standardized exam. Teachers also organized numerous extracurricular events, such as trips to Broadway shows and a writing program for local students that provided opportunities for academic enrichment outside of the classroom
Review Garden School
My daughter received partial scholarship entering the 6th grade. She really likes the school. I am pleased with the Academics so far. She is now in 7th grade. The teachers that she's had seem to be dedicated to their work. The PTA also works really hard in adding to the progress of the school. They also have good parent involvement. The school has been making some needed updates. The small classes are a plus. As for college readiness, my daughter is not quite at that point yet to fairly rate. That rating will come later on as she progresses to the upper grades.
School is small. Graduating class had 19 students. Almost everyone goes on to college. Tuition is moderate by NYC standards. Merit scholarships available for smart students. Teachers are smart and caring. Very happy that my son just spent 6 years at this school.
