Fusion Academy Westchester in White Plains, NY opened in 2013 as Fusion’s 14th campus nationwide. Fusion Westchester is a private school where classes are one-to-one: one student and one teacher per classroom.

Our Teacher/Mentors can personalize curriculum and pacing for their students’ strengths, interests, and learning style. Students may attend full-time for middle and high school or part-time with classes for credit, tutoring and mentoring, post-secondary counseling, and more.

I have been a student at Fusion Westchester for four years and I believe it is a good option if a student absolutely cannot learn in a traditional school environment but otherwise I wouldn't consider it. The teachers are all well intentioned and are very accommodating but seem to struggle with the administration and more difficult students. Teachers frequently leave the school so expect to have teachers leave mid semester if you go here. Also in my experience teachers will often tell students how much they dislike working at the school, usually when they are leaving, which can be off putting. The mentorships teachers develop with students can be incredibly helpful, especially if a student struggles with communication, disability or has an alternative learning style. Overall, the actual education part is very hit or miss depending on the teachers you get. Teachers who have been at fusion for a few years are usually good. The administration has changed a lot but Monk seems to be good.

Fusion changed the life of our daughter, providing her with the personal attention she needed in order to excel academically. It has led to great opportunities for her, including acceptance at a leading college. When our son was not thriving at his public school during COVID, we turned to Fusion, and in less than six months, he is already a different and better student. We highly recommend Fusion for anyone who wants their children to go to the next level academically, while experiencing a truly nurturing environment.
