I think that Fruita is a great place to send your kid! There are many teachers wthat truest care about the kids and that want the best for them. It may not be the nicest school in the world not in Colorado, but it is the best school in the western slope!

Fruita Monument is a wonderful school, but it is lacking in discipline. It is an open-campus school, which already invites trouble. Tardies are only punished with loss of daily points and a call home. If enough tardies are collected, the student gets detention, but I have seen that it is not enough to inspire change. The dress code also gets broken daily by numerous students. Some of the girls that I have seen to break the dress code have broken it numerous times a week. However, these are gracious compared to what I have seen in my math class. A student habitually disrupts class and distracts all of us greatly. The teacher does nothing to try to stop him from persisting with his behavior. Despite of all of this, Fruita is still a very good school because of the teaching styles, mild diversity, and amazing activities to be apart of like sports and clubs.
I liked that my teachers and administration trusted their students, for example, allowing us to go off campus during lunch, allowing us to have free periods in our schedule if we need to work during school, and that we are still expected to go to classes on time. My school really focused on inclusiveness as well, seeing as it is a very big school population wise. I definitely think that it is one of the better high schools in Colorado, and the sports/band programs are very good.
