Given the area and size of this high school they have done a very good job in most aspects. I believe that the academics are ahead of most schools and are very flexible allowing more student involvement and change in the classes. In turn this allows students to express themselves more and know that they have an impact. The sports and competitive teams at this school are phenomenal, as they regularly surpass the bigger schools in games or championships. Overall I give it a four out of five stars only because the kids are not very kind to each other and don't actively care about school, and I believe that roots from a broken school system across the nation. Therefore, no schools truly deserve five stars if they follow the standard educational system.

I liked the schedule that was set out for the students. For example we had shorter classes on certain days to fit in reading, lectures, or note taking. We had longer days that fit great for things such as labs and group work. Things I would change is teachers gave a lot of busy work rather than actually trying to help us understand the material and helping us to get the material stuck in our brain for the SAT. Didn’t really prepare us for the SAT. Too many assembly’s trying to enforce things that were a waste of money and time, when during that time students could be getting help by teachers or tutors. Most math teachers get mad when you don’t understand something the first time.
All around wonderful school. Very high graduation rates. Great teachers and faculty. I highly recommend Fruita Monument High School over every other high school in mesa county. They strive on making learning fun and offer many wonderful programs for all their students. Very low drop out rates compared to the other high schools in this district. No bully tolerance! Just a great school for my child!
