This school is wonderful. My son feels secure and happy and productive here. The teachers are experts, as is the administration. They take their profession seriously and are very thoughtful to the kids and thoughtful about community. The school is Quaker and takes that philosophy of inclusiveness and empathy seriously. I am so relieved my child gets to be in this environment everyday. I see the description says "Christian", but actually the school has students of many different faith/nonfaith backgrounds. They offer several languages, great art and musical staff, a whole slew of engaging endeavors and studio facilities as the children grow. The staff loves what they do and imho are phenomenal at it.:)

Our children have attended FSS for the past 7 years and we are all very happy with this choice. The majority of teachers are extremely engaged and committed to the growth of the children and there is a deep sense of community. There is a rigorous academic program, opportunities to explore a large range of sports throughout the seasons and access to central Philadelphia's wealth of museums and institutions. We really are deeply grateful- only wish all kids could get an education like this.
Applying to high school, I was a little concerned about leaving all of my friends from middle school who were going elsewhere. But I was excited to start at Friends Select, which felt like home from the open house. I couldn't have made a better decision—I have made amazing friends, am enjoying the refreshingly challenging classes, and feel completely accepted every day I go to school. I have maintained some friendships from middle school, and those friends fit perfectly in my new group at school. The teachers are exceptional and always willing to help or discuss ideas. The classes are fun, interactive, and flexible while remaining rigorous. There's a strong sense of community among the students, teachers, and administrators. I couldn't love a school more.
