Small class size, pro-active teachers who are always willing to make time for you. Each HS grade is comprised of approximately 100 students and you know almost everyone in your grade and the entire high school. I learned so much about myself and how fortunate I am as community service is required at Friends. It speaks to one of the underlying Quaker premises of treating others as you wish to treated. Spending time working (cleaning, cooking, food prep and kitchen work) at a Friends Seminary homeless shelter and then in the evening interacting with the men was ENLIGHTENING!

The school does a great job of preparing students to be independent and self-reliant. However, if you are looking for a diverse school this is not the place! The drinking culture is very strong and the student population mostly consists of white wealthy families who live in a bubble. Socially, not the best option for a girl!
Friends Academy has been an amazing school for my children. They started in grades 6 and 3 and their experiences in Lower School, Middle School and now High School have been fantastic. My oldest, now a college freshman, is a well prepared, confident, thoughtful and kind co-ed. Thank you Friends Academy!
