Our son entered FAIS in 6th grade for Middle School and is currently a 7th grader. From the Open House we first attended and thereafter, we've been nothing but impressed. At the Open House, teachers were present and shared with us about their courses and teaching approach. They then got so excited talking to each other about how they collaborate on the IB curriculum they eventually had to be light-heartedly "shushed" so the presentations could continue! It was awesome. And we quickly saw the teachers walked their talk. The curriculum is challenging, global and engaging. Class sizes are small and the teachers really get to know your kid and support them. Administration is open and responsive and the school does a great job of providing opportunities for FAIS families to get to know each other. Our son loves being on the school soccer, basketball and track teams. He's happy. We parents are happy. We all wish it went through high school!

French American Int'l School has been wonderful for my two daughters. Not only do they teach high-quality language immersion but the arts, technology, music and PE are all infused in their core learning. The middle school (Gilkey) gives fantastic structure for those awkward tween years. Small class sizes and a dedicated group of teachers who have been there forever make a vibrant learning environment. The IB program is an added bonus that enhances their studies considerably. The IB load starts early and continues all the way through middle school, setting them up for a rigorous high school curriculum. Not all immersion schools provide this level of high-quality studies. French American walks their talk. Plus, they are building a new facility for their middle school! It is definitely worth checking out. The one drawback is the pick up/drop off process. It gets bogged down pretty fast.
I can't say enough good things about this French immersion school!I It is such a good fit for our children and we rest assured that they will be more than fully prepared for an IB diploma program in high school. Native language speakers, small classroom size, individuation, inquiry based learning and IB framework summarize how the students are on the path towards becoming life long learners! From PE to Art, Music, Language classes, Math & Science, our kids are such well rounded global citizens!
