I have attended Freedom Academy since Kindergarten; I'm now a Junior in Highschool. There have been many chances for me to switch schools, but I've denied them all. The small class sizes and the friendly atmosphere are extremely appealing and allow for numerous leadership opportunities. However, there is not a very high level of social interaction, at least outside of school. If I were to change anything, it would be the sense of School Spirit and community.
Review Freedom Preparatory Academy - Provo Elementary
My school has exceptional teachers who genuinely care for the overall progression of each individual student. Teachers are willing to work with the individual needs of each of us as students. Their lessons are fun, engaging, and filled with facts relevant to the curriculum being studied. Many of the teachers at our school go above and beyond what is asked of them both in and out of the classroom. Almost all of the teachers are a supervisor to a club, sports team, leadership group, or after school study hall. One of my school's teachers is a coach to several sports teams throughout the year. At my school I am challenged not only academically by my teachers, but also as a leader. The students at my school are expected to become their own leader. Many school activities and assignments help us to do so as we are given opportunities to give speeches, run assemblies, become captains of team sports, and work on our own self improvement.
Our school has created a very safe environment. When it comes to bullying I have only seen three cases, which were stopped immediately. Bullying is not tolerated by the teachers or the students. We all watch out for each other. There isn't a way to report situations anonymously, which can cause problems, but there hasn't been any huge need for anonymity. If you have a problem you can trust the counselor or teachers to help you. A few security measures could be better, but overall our school has many safeguards to keep it's students safe.
