I really like how inclusive the school is. I am a part of the leadership team at Freedom and find that they include the student body in so much of their decisions involving the students. The SCA does an amazing job of making all school events fun and open to everyone! There are so many clubs to be a part of and if you want to start a club, they make it so easy! All the teachers and staff are so welcoming and genuinely care about the students! Freedom has also been a part of many pilot programs including the Mental Health First-Aid program with the Born This Way foundation and the Unified Sports programs! Overall, the experience that I have had while at Freedom has been amazing and I can truly say that being a student at Freedom has helped me become the person I am today!
I think Freedom High School has positive aspects, but in addition the school also has some not so good facets. The atmosphere at Freedom can be very negative if you are not a part of a certain group or "clique." Making friends can be somewhat challenging. I haven't witnessed intense bullying, but I do believe a lot of racist, transphobic, and homophobic comments or jokes take place. Even though Freedom High School has its share of negative features, academically it is a very good school, and the clubs, activities and sports provided are known to be excellent. Many of our sports teams continue to go to District, Regional, and State Championships every year. There are also a variety of clubs and activities available that can appeal to many different types of people. Freedom High School also has numerous sessions to help prepare the students for college and their careers for post college. Overall, I believe Freedom High School is a good school to obtain a good quality education.
I enjoyed the time I had spent at Freedom! The teachers and faculty were amazing and respected the students. There were tons of programs, clubs, and teams offered here allowing for students to pursue whatever interests they had. Friendly community and culture! Overall, it was a great time and I will always remember the memories I have made there.
