I have both of my children enrolled at Fredericksburg Christian Schools and I am very pleased with their teachers and the way they are being taught. I have also met and gotten to know several former students of FCS who are truely good people. If you read the FCS mission statement, it reads; Fredericksburg Christian School is an evangelical, non-denominational school dedicated to a strong academic program with Christian character and biblical truths integrated into every area, in order that students develop a lifelong Christian worldview.

I have been to many school chapels and have never heard a word of anyone using ‘scare tactics’ or consigning anyone to hell. Only prayer, encouragement, kindness and love. FCS is very faith-based school who judges no one.

CONS:

Minority opinions are discouraged, with staff and students sometimes bullying students into a conservative, Baptist worldview. Mormon and Catholic students were directly told they and their families were going to Hell.

Females in class officers were encouraged to resign should a male student run. Significant effort and time is put into modesty and teaching women their place.

I had several experiences with staff that were aggressive, demeaning or overly punitive.

PROS:

Strongly homogenous, religious environment.

Overall, very welcoming student body where anyone could be friends with anyone.

I always felt very physically safe (though, I do know students kept firearms in their cars).

Teachers and staff cared deeply about the success of their students.

I made quality, kind-hearted, academically-driven and creative friends.
A very good school. Making the switch to Fredericksburg Christian changed me for the best. Not only did I become a better student, but a better person overall. I also increased my faith a lot with the staff and students around me. FCS does an excellent job getting students involved in clubs, activities, and sports.
