I love Frederick High school. I'm a student there and love it! The elective teachers are fun and nice people, sports are getting better each year, we have a nice and new building, and they have a new program called The LYNX. The LYNX program has helped me through my time as a student at my school, they build college visits for students to visit, we have the choice to select when you want to start school and if you want to take an extra class by taking it online or take it after school. Frederick high school has kids of all diversity, which I love because I get to meet new people. what I would change is that our pep rally get more hyped up, sadly when we got a new school, they made the gym where we have the pep rally so small that we have to squish in order to be there all, I also wished that more students would be more involved in clubs and school activities because it's just the same little group of people helping out instead of having a big group
My experience at Frederick High School was amazing. They have such a unique program that sets up their students for success. They are the only high school in Maryland with LYNX (Linking Youths to New Xperiences). This program sets up events and field trips based on the students career interests. Part of this program is college trips starting all the way from freshman year. Frederick high school's dual enrollment program is also excellent, they have a lot more oppurtunities than some of the other FCPS schools. Such as taking five classes a day instead of four; or the staggered day option which allows you to start your day later, but still get in your four classes.
Frederick High School is a thriving school! Ever since I transferred there, I have been learning more in all my courses and developing new skills, as well as enhancing my writing, reading, and math skills.
