Attending Franklin High School has shown me how a diverse community can help one another out. I have been going to this school for 4 years and have good teachers and resources. I take advantage of getting mental health counseling and academic help. What I like about Franklin is that everyone has something to bring. Everyone is allowed to share their opinions and feelings in classroom. I’m glad that students have the opportunity to have a safe space where they can talk about issues that matter to them. I do believe that Franklin can be improved by adding more security and enjoyable core classes. There have been safety threats directed at students and this makes my classmates and I feel upset. If there was more security staff, non police officers, it would be much better. Also, with adding fun GEN ED classes, students will be engaged in academic participation and learning. Overall, I do love being a part of Franklin and I’m glad I got to attend this school.
This school year I am currently a 10th grader who attends Franklin high school in Seattle Washington. So far I’ve really come to enjoy my experience here at this school, making new friends and acquaintances, getting into extracurricular activities after school and joining a sport. The students that also attend this school are very welcoming and show a lot of school pride especially when it comes to our sport games, like our HOCO where we beat a rival school in football 52-0. We also have a lot of Resource’s and staff at this school who can very much help you with anything relating to school, questions you have, and even things happening outside of school. While it is still very early in the school year I do hope I can better expand my knowledge of my school and share my experience with others who are looking for a new high school in south-side of Seattle.
Franklin High school is full of diversity. It is packed with tons of varying types of people and is welcoming to everyone. It appeals to all races and ethnicities because of the lack of discrimination throughout. A problem with Franklin is that they receive inadequate funding. Much of the technology used is outdated and very slow. A lot of the programs, such as sports and robotics, don't receive enough and rely of student aid.
