Overall Franklin High school is a very good school, my child was able to excel academically in many subjects specially math and sience, he also enjoyed playing baseball for Franklin school team and dedicated many hours of practice to be a good asset to his team . He got plenty of academic support before during and after school from many teachers, especially his science teacher. In 2020 Sean Carter (my son) will be going to the University of his choice to continue his education of becoming chamical engineer. Im sure that all of us will be very proud of his current and future accomplishment! Thank you Franklin in helping Sean to prepare for future of his dreams!
Academics: Could be better, limited class choices for 9th/10th grade. Only allowed 1-2 AP courses in 9th + 10th grade b/c more GT classes. Some inappropriately placed in higher lvl courses b/c teachers + counselors letting them slide. Many left in lower lvl classes b/c they do well in classes that expect bare minimum, not encouraged to push selves; left unprepared for college-level work.
Diversity: Average, not as great as administration tries to portray. Population half black, half white, decent percentage of Latinos, small percentage of other minorities (estimation). Populations aren't necessarily cooperative, some white students have noticeable condescending attitude toward colored students, colored students also not so open to including white students. Huge problem w/ racism in upper lvl classes as they contain mainly white students; aren't afraid to make racist conversation/jokes among selves, is not unnoticed by colored students as they take offense + mix w/ them less often.

FHS is a relatively large high school. I have made some good friends. Teachers have been inconsistent - many dedicated and respectful of students, cultivating a learning environment. I had one very rude and disrespectful teacher.
The school has a good extracurricular theater program and a fabulous football team.
