Easily the best decision I ever made. Challenging and nurturing teachers, beautiful campus, great community, and awesome extracurricular. With a new gym coming too! So many opportunities from a week in another country, to skiing, to studying abroad for several weeks, rock climbing team, etc. FVS also really set me up for college. However, the academics are very challenging, so my friend and I definitely felt a bit burnt out begore college.

Fountain Valley truly is an amazing place for students. You will have classmates from all over the world, teachers who are also your advisers, coaches and dorm parents. Yes, there are small class sizes, but what truly makes a difference is that the teachers are committed to transforming your child into a global citizen who thinks critically.

Is it expensive? Yes. But there are need-based and merit-based scholarships. The opportunities are amazing.

The breadth of athletics is good; some times are more successful than others. But, you can also learn how to ride a horse, participate in outdoor education, and more! They are building a new athletic center that opens next year... that's going to be great for the community.
Academically speaking, I absolutely adored this school. I felt challenged and encouraged to learn more and had teachers who were genuinely excited and interested in what they taught. I felt the curriculum was on par with some of the (high ranking) international schools I had previously attended. However, that is where my praise of Fountain Valley ends. Environmentally, Fountain Valley is toxic. I have a liberal political view and was glad to be around like-minded individuals, but for a school that claims to encourage open-mindedness, I watched students with political beliefs that did not match mine become alienated not just by students, but by TEACHERS especially in the English department. I also witnessed blatant favoritism and outright bullying on a daily basis.
