Of course it depends on which teacher(s) you have. As a whole, they are knowledgeable on their subjects and assign actual work rather than busy work, but it seems difficult for them to find the balance between respecting their students and controlling them. Most of them are either iron-fisted or too lax in discipline, and neither of those are good for learning environments.

Then there are the teachers who are outliers: they either don't teach, and spend the period discussing mundane things, or they constantly pile on work, insisting that it's only an hour's worth and neglecting that other teachers also assign an hour's worth, not to mention that many students are involved in time-consuming sports, and also need time to sleep, eat, and socialize. In other words, they are not very understanding.

Fountain Lake High School is an amazing school. Becoming a charter school in 2015, when I started here, has really increased the opportunities students can get for their futures. They offer courses that would not be at a regular high schools. Students can take courses at the local community college to earn credits and experience for college. The teachers are great, they help students further their education, care about the grades we receive, and encourage us to pursue our futures. I've had a wonderful experience at Fountain Lake.
I most definitely would not attend this school. In fact, my mother is pulling my youngest brother out of it in order to homeschool him.

The teachers are more concerned with the ways in which problems are solved rather than the students getting the right answer, and even when the student expresses difficulty in grasping the subject, they'd rather punish him than tutor him.

The quality of the food is bad as well. If a student is unable to pay for a lunch and has not brought one from home, he or she is given a sandwich--if it can be called that. It is a hamburger bun with a razor-thin spread of peanut butter. Hardly nutritional. It seems there is plenty in the budget to send football players and cheerleaders to games in Greyhound busses and feed them (while the band took a regular school bus and sat three or four to a seat), but the lunches have to be bland, mushy, unappetizing, and not nutritional.

The only positive aspects I can glean from my experience here is that some of the teachers really go above and beyond to make sure you have education and resources to continue it. And the buildings looked a bit nicer once they took out the carpets and got new desks and chairs. Plenty of money for renovations and iPads, but not for actual programs.
