From Foundation Academy

Voted "Readers Choice for Orlando's Best Private Christian School", in 2018 & 2019 by Orlando Style Magazine.

In 1958 Foundation Academy opened it's doors to the students and families of Central Florida. Our intention was to treat and teach each child as a unique creation in Christ, and partner with parents and the church to build a foundation for life, over 60 years later that still remains true.

Foundation Academy, a K-3 through 12th-grade private Christian school, was founded in 1958 as a ministry of Winter Garden’s First Baptist Church. All grades were housed at the church campus until 2007 when the Upper School grades moved to a new 70-acre property in south Winter Garden. In 2019 a third campus began at the campus of First Baptist Church Windermere, Lakeside campus with a Kindergarten class. The campus will grow a new grade level each school year up through 6th grade. Currently, Foundation Academy serves 900 students in grades K-3 through 12.

What I liked about Foundation Academy is the community of the school. The size of the school is not too big but not too small, you are able to still meet new students but the school isn't big enough to not see them around. The teachers are excellent in that you are able to have a personal relationship with them. They are also really willing to help you in any way possible. Another great thing is the Christian foundation the school is built upon. The teachers and administration exhibit good Christian behavior and tie Christian aspects with their curriculum. One thing that can be changed is the entire school spirit which can affect the presentation of the school. Finally, the school, in general, is starting to struggle with the physical capacity and needs to expand and make new buildings to aid with the development of the school.
When I came to Foundation Academy in third grade, I felt like an outcast at first. I did not know anything about Jesus, chapel, or cursive. I learned all of those things and I gained wonderful friends throughout my years at Foundation Academy. I am still friends with people at Foundation Academy. I work at Foundation Academy's North Campus after I graduated there. I love the work environment there. Everyone is friendly and encouraging. The children are so sweet. I have developed my communication skill while I have been working at Foundation Academy. I would change the education curriculum and add classes that prepare the students for the real world.
