The academic part of Fossil Ridge High School was amazing! I always felt supported by my teachers and I feel as though they have prepared me as much as they can for college. Unfortunately there is little to no diversity at FRHS. Everyone is the same and it is hard to find friends if you are not exactly like everyone else. The culture at school was toxic and it made me not want to attend my last few years of high school. I also was not a huge fan of the administration team. They did not take the time to get to know you or see you as an individual unless you caused trouble, played a sport or got really good grades. My teachers supported me but the rest of the administration team did not. I never found any clubs or activities that interested me but I know there were tons of options. I always felt safe at school and it was also always kept super clean and organized. Overall, FRHS is a pretty average school.
Fossil Ridge High School has an amazing staff and administration team. It is so easy for students and teachers to get involved with clubs, sports, and organizations. There is not an enormous amount of school spirit but there are many organizations working on improving it, such as Student Council, Academic Council, Student Ambassadors, DLA, and the Culture & Climate team. The student body is extremely welcoming and the teachers do an amazing job educating and creating relationships with their students. Fossil Ridge gives to the community in many ways, having a very large and involved Key Club. Many students and teachers at Fossil are also involved with non-profit organizations such as Thirst Project and local Turkey Round-up's!
For the most part Fossil creates a great space to learn and the school itself is very nice. Most teachers are kind and helpful, but there are a few that i’ve had some troubles with. Something that I love is our sports games and going to them with friends, I love the atmosphere that is created there. Something not so good I would like to note is the undiverse population and the bullying that can go on in our school. There are kids who are not very considerate and rude to people who are different than them, making it hard for some people to learn and have a good experience.
