I am currently a Senior at Foshay Learning Center and have been attending since middle school. Foshay has excellent music and sports program. When it comes to academics, they have incredible teachers, and programs are available to help students. There are faculty at Foshay who are there to help students with whatever situation they are going through. They also have many fun activities that Foshay has to encourage students. Great counselors who offer help with college apps and one-on-one with grade help. It is a K-12 school with elementary on a separate campus, and middle school through high school share a campus. The only thing that I do not like about the school is the disciplinary system towards students because it is entirely unfair. I also do not agree with LAUSD's dress code.

Foshay Learning Center is my second home. I am very comfortable and happy at the place I am currently in at school. Foshay has great programs such as NAI(Neighborhood Academic Initiative), academies: Tech/Engineering, Health, and Finance, etc. This school receives lots of outside resources especially from USC. Foshay is an IB school in which I believe the students are prepared to have a global readiness being prepared with intellect of all aspects. The teachers, administrators and staff are all wonderful always putting their greatest efforts into each student. Foshay’s arts program is wonderful such as the band, where they have gone to play in all sorts of places such as Paris France, Grammys, Sony, The Queen Latifah Show, and so much more. Foshay’s sports program primarily soccer and volleyball are competion reach playoffs every year.
What I liked about Foshay was that you had the opportunity to meet all the teachers and faculty and make them know who you are. Since it is a small compact school it was easier to socialize and make faculty acknowledge you. In addition, the USC Leslie and William McMorrow Neighborhood Academic Initiative was a seven years commitment program at USC that motivated and prepared first-generation students for college. In addition, the three academies, now four, has been essential in making students learn careers and developments. This made students aware of what they want to do after college or in life.
