Fort Zumwalt South High School was just an average school because I felt while many teachers were supportive whenever I needed them, there were a lot of teachers who did not seem to care about student success. One teacher, Mr. Shaw, put in extra effort to make sure all of his students understood the material. He presented the information in a variety of ways, and taught the students how to use their resources inside the classroom and out. However, there were other teachers who did not put in the extra effort. Some frequently showed You Tube videos instead of standing in front of the class to teach. Grades were not recorded in a timely manner. Others would give you a book and tell you to read it.

It could've been better, and it also could've been worse. I got solid academic opportunities here, and the vast majority of my teachers cared about me and about being good teachers. As far as the administration goes, it was pretty mixed. Some principals aren't trusted and don't seem to care about their jobs, while others have literally changed lives. Clubs/Sports varied-there were some that sounded pretty cool but actually sucked, and then there were some absolutely amazing ones. If you're interested in something, just check it out for a day and see if you vibe with it, and talk to some people who are involved with the group. The food was pretty awful, the building was old and incapable of staying at a comfortable temperature, nobody really has school spirit, etc.
I attended all 4 years of high school here, and enjoyed it very much! I met lifetime friends while involved in the cheerleading program. Each of my teachers have left impacts on me that will influence my success in college, and I am very grateful to have gone to such a great high school.
