Fort Zumwalt East is a great school! From all the hardworking and helpful teachers, to the sweetest staff, to the best principle in the world. East has a great community and most of our school is involved in something, it may be sports, clubs, and fine arts, pretty much everyone is involved! The staff go above and beyond with everyone, helping in every way they can. Each student that goes here has their own story, just like any other school, but at East I feel as if they express themselves more than they would somewhere else because East is more than just a school, its a community.

From a freshman to a senior, I’ve always appreciated Fort Zumwalt East High School. Here teachers are open-minded and make an effort to educate and connect with students. There’s Pride in being an East Lion! However, while many students put in great effort to enhance school spirit, it isn’t always noticed. There are heartbreaking and mesmerizing moments where the entire school—from freshmen to seniors—join together to comfort and remember fallen fellow Lions. In those moments, everyone is connected; I believe we should all stay connected through every game and every event, too.
East is a pretty good school, especially compared with others in the area. Seeing as it was built rather recently, it has a lot of modern accommodations that us students really enjoy. Teacher wise, there are some really good teacher and some teachers that aren't favorable, but overall there are no major issues. We have many arts and sports programs, and while some do better than others, there are countless opportunities for students to try new things. Our school is the most diverse in the district, and they often preach about equality and treating others with respect. One of the downsides of the school is the stairs. Our school has 5 floors, so in order to get from class to class, you have to climb several flights of stairs in a 5 minute passing time. Another negative lies in our cell phones policies. They are not allowed in classrooms, but we do enjoy the luxury of each of us having a personal Chromebook.
