Fort Worth Country Day School Reviews
Rating 4.19 out of 5 96 reviews
The school has a very good academic program, but the administration makes very questionable decisions sometimes. The higher ups also are not very in touch the needs and wants of the student population. The school also doesn't promote or fund the arts programs, as much as they should. Instead relying on donations to fund those programs past the limited money they put into it themselves. The athletics program is pretty good. Some of the coaches are hired/kept because of how much the heads like them, not their qualifications
FWCD planned a number of events for new incoming students, including a technology orientation and social events with both new and returning students making the transition much easier. New students entering 6th grade had the option of attending "Snack and Study" after school Monday through Thursday for no extra fee where they learn organizational and study skills, work on their homework, and have an opportunity to meet with teachers in their classes if they feel they need additional help. The school does send a lot of emails, often multiple emails in one day.
Country Day is a great school community in which teachers and faculty care very deeply about the students. Being a college preparatory school, FWCD goes beyond just teaching the necessary academics. The school teaches life skills that will be used years beyond when the student leaves. The school is very difficult and requires lots of time to be dedicated to school work at home. Overall, the school is very good!
