I am currently a sophomore student at Fort Lauderdale High School and I absolutely love being there. The teachers focus on preparing their students for each and every upcoming test, creating an after school study session for those who are struggling, and also provide extra credit opportunities to their students. Fort Lauderdale definitely prepares their students for college, providing AICE and AP classes for all students along with offering dual enrollment with Broward College. The students at Fort Lauderdale have so much pride in their school and support their sports teams in every possible way, whether it be attending football games, congratulating members of different teams on their achievements, and cheering them on at each pep rally encouraging a family-like base in the school environment. Overall the Fort Lauderdale is a great school with even better teachers and I am so grateful to have an opportunity to be apart of the Flying L family.

FLHS Has offered me, as well as all of my peers, so many opportunities. Our school has a Pre-Law magnet program along with a Cambridge and Cambridge accelerated Program. These basically make it a lot easier for students to take Ap and other college level courses-- all of which have prepared me very well for big college-entry exams such as the SAT. These programs also allow a student like me to graduate with up to 4 diplomas. The only real issue I have with my experience here is how big the school is. This plays a big role in how there is barely any familiarity between administration and students which leads there to be a lot of confusion amongst the student body. What I'm trying to say is that it's extremely hard to talk to a guidance counselor or learn any important and up-to-date information on scholarships or college-readiness. That is unless you've somehow managed to be one of few students that are close to the administration.
Overall being a Flying L is great! Between the great programs they provide such as the Cambridge and Pre-Law programs they have too enrich student knowledge on their career. Along with JRTOC, EMR/ Dispatch, and Culinary classes that allow students to take a step further in their career path.
