If you take the AP program the teachers are fabulous! They genuinely know what they are talking about, and have a desire to help you learn. Some of the administration cares more about the school's reputation than the actual students, but the teachers are almost entirely there to help students.

Throughout my four years at Fort Dorchester, I've furthered my education and understanding thanks to the amazing teachers that have helped me grow academically. Each year I realized a new educational strength or weakness and the faculty was always there to help me when it was needed. Some teachers had a greater impact on me than others and I had a better educational experience and connection with only a few but nevertheless, they were always ready to lend a helping hand. I feel that I am exceptionally prepared for college as I've gathered new information, study techniques, and motivation over these past four years. The student population is very diverse and welcoming all around. One thing I wish I could change is the school culture. Some situations happen in front of teachers and they excuse it overall because they are used to the school culture and have found themselves in that circumstance numerous times.
Fort Dorchester has such an amazing environment that I believe many will enjoy. The teachers, faculty, and students contribute to Fort in different ways. The administrators provide the support for the school as a whole. The teachers pave a path for their students' futures with support and guidance throughout the years. The students at Fort Dochester High School create the stories that will be remembered down the road. Being a student at Fort has provided me with more knowledge academically and socially. I am prepared everyday for the next step in my academic career and I am constantly reminded of all the different types of people that I have met and will end up meeting down the road.
One thing that could be changed about Fort Dorchester is the amount of school functions that are held for the students. While there are many fundraisers and sports games that students can attend, I believe there should be more offered like school dances.
