Forest Grove high school has come a long way since my freshman year in 2016. Forest Grove is famous for a school walkout regarding the treatment of student minority's and how other students and staff members treat them. These brave students took a stance, including myself, to create a welcoming and safe environment for students to go school and have to focus on their education opposed to how they would be treated when they arrive at 8:15 am every morning. After this endeavor my school has taken certain measures in order to fix the schools issues regarding students and staff. They have done so by collecting student feedback through surveys and applying them to each and every school year, also asking speakers to come during assembles. The growth of Forest Grove high school has benefited its name and the happiness of students. Every school isn't perfect, however, forest grove strives to become near perfection to help students succeed.

It gets quite crowded at times, but a majority of the teachers are great! There isn't much diversity, as 40-45% of the students are either white or Hispanic. The unified program is one of the best in the state! There are a lot of activities, groups, clubs, and classes to choose from.
When I first transferred over to Forest Grove High School, I was told that my credits would not transfer from the two years I had been homeschooled. I had resigned to the fact that I would not be graduating. One day, I started talking to my English teacher and he gave me advice on who to talk to and helped vouch for me with my vice principle. The vice principle and principle were very understanding and took a second look at my coursework. After deliberating with all of the department heads they agreed that I had passed the courses and I was given the credit on my transcript. I was able to walk at graduation and I became a valedictorian due to my hard work for the two years I was at the high school.
