When I first came to Fond du Lac High School I was beginning treatment for various mental illnesses. The staff in the Student Services department really helped me feel comfortable. The social worker and psychologist always listened and helped me through many academic and personal problems. The academic counselors were a godsend! Just now in my senior year, I was struggling with applying for colleges and scholarships but my counselor helped me every step of the way and was extremely encouraging! I wish I could say the rest of the school was just as great. There are many teachers who are amazing at their jobs and form personal bonds with their students. Sadly a small handful are not as good. Many of the students are also very delinquent. Hundreds of fights, many vandals, and three different bomb threats, that were all 'jokes', happened within my four years.

My experience with Fond du Lac High School has been good. I enjoy their extracurricular opportunities. Each of the many activities I'm apart of has made my time here memorable. One thing I would like to see change is a greater push for student mental health. Having more available counselors and resources could help with this push. A mandatory semester of a mental health class could be beneficial for students, because they would have a better understanding of mental health, and how to help a friend or themselves. Students dealing with mental health would feel less alone in a school encouraging a bigger program and education of mental health.
My experience at Fondy High so far is at best average. I am currently a junior here and see myself as a reliable source of the environment of this school. What I enjoy about my Highschool is that there are a wide variety of classes and clubs to participate in. The culture is very "sporting" heavy, and for this reason, almost any sport you can think of, there's probably a program at this school that you could participate in. There are a handful of very good teachers, but the majority could go a year only really knowing a couple of their students' names.
There are around 2,000 students currently enrolled, yet I've had classes of entirely caucasian students. There is also a sense of isolation, and it is hard to feel apart of a community. Physical fights are a regular occurrence, you can't go a week in the lunchroom without witnessing at least one. Drugs are a huge problem, there's an entire bathroom in the math hall used to only juul in, and bullying is very common.
