I actually really like the overall environment of the school. Students are friendly, and most of us come together for special events or in hard times. The student section, Darkside, is known for its size and voice. Football games were one of the best parts of high school, with hundreds of students showing up to support the team. We also lost two students to cancer, one football player and one volleyball player, and the entire school came together to support the families. The student body and spirit of the school is fantastic. Most administrators are helpful, most teachers make the students want to learn, and the school is pretty safe.

Some of the administration staff at the school is very helpful and friendly, and will happily answer any questions. Some of the other staff are somewhat rude and very unapproachable. It is difficult to get information at the school, and class meetings tended to be centered on dress code and ID badges instead of college visits and other important information. Dress code, attendance, and wearing ID badges are all heavily enforced and failure to comply usually results in In-School-Suspension.
The nurse is always helpful and has quite a few things on hand in case you get sick. We have two resource officers, one patrols outside and the other inside, and both of them are very friendly and would be very approachable in case of an emergency. The area itself is already fairly safe, and the schools conducts regular lockdown, fire, and other drills to prepare students and staff for these situations.
