I was able to have unforgettable experiences at this school. The majority of my experiences leaned towards the fine arts programs at Flower Mound High School, and that is perhaps where this school shines brightest. All the fine arts programs at this school have incredible staff and support from the students' parents. My activities were particularly with the band program, which has become one of the premier programs of the entire state and country among public schools, not just its peers in the D/FW Metroplex. But this level of excellence is evident throughout the rest of the school's activities as well, including athletics. Flower Mound High School is one of the most prolific high schools in UIL Athletic competition. It has a very academically competitive environment as well, and teachers are very often great at giving students access to resources they need to further their academic opportunities. Go Jags!
Flower Mound High School offers an excellent schooling program with countless caring teachers to help support the system. The atmosphere created by the staff and students have an overall comforting and inviting feel, making a space for great studies. Not only are there a vast array of subjects offered, students have to opportunity to be involved in numerous clubs and extra curricular activities such as band, choir, orchestra, theater, robotics, sports, and more. Each club is filled with enthusiastic students who are extremely welcoming when joining. The joining process is always extremely easy, and through these clubs, students are able to find new friends and create more social connections. The many extra curricular activities provide an uplifting space for anyone who wants to join. Not only is each program extremely advanced, but students can have so much fun participating in a group in either making music or competing on a subject they are passionate about.
My experience throughout high school has been incredible! Flower Mound High School has over 100 courses you can apply for, including, cosmetology, baby sitting, pre law enforcement, med class, anatomy, debate, and several dual credit and AP courses. The highly competitive rigor of Flower Mound has been recognized on the national level. Our sports teams are also a force to be reckoned with. Last year, both girls and boys water polo and cross country went to the UIL state competition. Our volleyball, golf, wrestling and lacrosse teams have made consistent appearances at the state tournament, as well.
One of the more impressive attributes of Flower Mound is the beloved robotics team. In 2018, our robotics team was given the opportunity to compete at the world competition in Japan. After sweeping the national tournament, the team would soon have the same fate at the world competition, gaining them the title of "World Champions".
